25 Best Orchestral Movie Theme Songs!

I've put together a list of the best orchestral theme songs. Please feel free to give your opinion on this list. I think you'll be hard pressed to find one that you seriously think is good enough to be on this list that isn't already on it. Yes, there's tons of GOOD theme songs, but it's tough to find ones that are GREAT. Here are the top 25 in no particular order:

25 Best Orchestral Movie Theme Songs:
Star Wars
Superman
ET
Dances with Wolves
Gladiator
Jurassic Park
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Last of the Mohicans
Braveheart

2001: Space Odessy
The Delta Force

Much love,
Genevieve

  1. Nice list! My addition: The Civil War (TV series, not movie but still...)

  2. Great compilation, Vieve! I wish there was some way to add Paula Abdul's orchestral interlude from Cold Hearted Snake, but alas, that is not possible. You inspired me to make a list for my blog today!

  4. What? No 007? James Bond Theme for sure, especially over so many movies.
If I had to pick one or two for best theme music overall, I'd choose Goldfinger (John Barry's first JB title song) and Tomorrow Never Dies (David Arnold's first JB title song, relegated to the end credits to make way for the Cheryl Crow one. At least he got to hire k d lang to sing it!
